पण अंतर्मनातील ज्योत कधी पेटणार??

हताश… व्यथित…


आजूबाजूला बहुतांश अर्ध्या हळकुंडाने पिवळे,
लाटेवर स्वार होणारे,
ज्यांनी ईश्वराचे अस्तित्वच नाकारले त्यांच्याचसाठी ईश्वराकडे शांतीची प्रार्थना करणारे…

तुमचे विचार खूपच चांगले,
मात्र त्यांना पाठींबा बाहेरून, तो हि अंतर्मनातून,
होय, 'आम्ही परिवर्तनवादी' दाखवण्याचा नुसताच अट्टाहास

मैं  हू  अण्णा, मैं  हू  दाभोलकर,
सगळेच क्षणभंगुर तरंग,
विचारांची गळचेपी, अभिव्यक्ती स्वातंत्र्याची  पायमल्ली…
निषेध, मोर्चा, बंद, सभा, मेणबत्त्या, टोप्या,
'विचार' प्रत्यक्ष जगण्यात उतरवताना मात्र हजारो पळवाटा….

तुम आगे बढो, हम तुम्हारे साथ है… अमर रहे …
माणसे मरतात, विचार मरत नाहीत…
अरे हो पण, त्या सोबत जिवंत माणसेही जगत नाहीत…

कर्वे, आगरकर, फुले, आमटे, बंग या व्यक्तीचं कार्य महान
शिवाजी जन्मावा शेजारच्या घरात
स्वत:वर वेळ आल्यावर सोयीस्कर डोळेझाक…

'पुरोगामित्व' समूहात मिरवणारे
दाखवण्याचा चेहरा खासगीत उतरविणारे…

Dr.S.B.Nimse sir- Great yet down to Earth....

2013 Science Congress comes with a great news for all of us. I am immensely happy to share this news with all of you.  One of our strong supporters, great Mathematician yet very down to earth personality Dr. S.B. Nimse has been elected as a General President for Indian Science Congress 2015. This is 100^th year of Indian Science Congress. This year Dr. Manmohan Singh, Hon. Prime Minister of India chaired as General President for 2013 India Science Congress. Here is a small list of some Honorable past presidents – P.C.Ray(1920), Sir M. Visvesaraya(1923), Sir J.C.Bose(1927), Prof C.V.Raman(1929), Prof M.N. Saha(1934), S.S.Bhatanagar(1945), P.C.Mahalanobis(1950), Dr. M.S.Swaminathan(1976), Prof C.N.R. Rao(1988), Prof Yash pal(1990), Dr. Gowarikar(1992), Prof U.R.Rao(1996), Dr. R.A. Mashelkar(2000), Dr.K.Kasturirangan(2003), Dr.G.Madhavan Nair(2010) and now Dr.S.B.Nimse(2015).

WE ARE PROUD OF YOU SIR!!!

I and we BARC’ians felt very much proud for being associated with him, he always showered his love and blessing on all of us during our early stage of Bhaskaracharya Astronomy Research Centre. I have lot of personal interactions and memories with him. At that time sir was working with New Arts Commerce and Science College as Principal. His working style took NACSC to a great height. Sir always encouraged us in our work, whenever we asked for any help/ attending our programmes, he never denied. I remember during those days, sir was very busy in many activities; this is very small thing to mention but I always had easy access to his cabin, whenever I called him on his cell phone he used to reply warmly.  Once we invited Dr. JV Narlikar to Ahmednagar and we were thinking who will felicitate Dr. Narlikar on behalf of us and unanimously we decided to ask Nimse sir and he agreed upon that right away. Because we wanted a personality from Ahmednagar who will stand next to Dr. Narlikar and the only name came was DR.S.B.Nimase.

During Space week exhibition

 I always wondered about the SIMPLICITY and EFFICIENCY of this gentleman which he carries throughout his life. This may be the right time when many people will accept his greatness which was underestimated many a times according to me. He proved himself with his work every time. Some years back sir deserved to be a Vice Chancellor of PU but as usual politics came and sir accepted tough charge of SRTMU, Nanded.  We found many people around us who glitters a lot despite they are not gold BUT when I think about Nimse sir I will recite a poem by JRR Tolkien –

“All that is gold does not glitter,

Not all those who wander are lost;

The old that is strong does not wither,

Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,

Alight from the shadow shall spring;

Renewed shall be blade that was broken,

The crownless again shall be king”

Lonar crater

From many years our group used to visit Lonar, we took hundreds of students for Study tour, we carried out Lonar cleaning activity many times, talked with local people, govt.authorities, marched through village for "Save Lonar movement" for conservation & preservation of this unique site.

March 2, 2012: Last week I went to Gadchiroli for some work regarding science centers. That day I witnessed a huge enthusiasm among youngsters to join Police force. For 1000 posts more than 16,000 boys & girls were present. In this small place, all kind of food; drinks were consumed by these guys. Mobile network was jammed as everyone was busy on cell phone. I reached very late at Nagpur.

March 3, 2012: 6:30 am

At the counter of Jet airways I asked for window seat! That guy allotted me window seat A30. I was excited. When plane took off, East was on my left side & because of Sun, I was disappointed as it became very difficult to take images against sunlight. I was cursing that guy & trying to peep out through the window on the other side. I tried to capture Nagpur’s aerial view but all in vein b’coz of sunlight. I kept camera back in bag n started my Videocon Ducati cell phone GPS ignoring instruction from plane staff. I was busy in observing changing altitude and pressure and I found my cell phone was able to capture signals from satellites.

I must record it’s latitude & longitude to check later when I will be back home…..

ohh sheet no pen-paper to write and guy next to me was in deep sleep, should I pick up his pen? ….

Suddenly I decided to take image of mobile screen (N 20.28 & E 76.77)

Ohhhhhhhh… IT IS LONAR !!!!!

Yessss it isssss….

Eurekaaaa….. I was as excited as I have discovered it…

I was stunned by the aerial view of Lonar….

Ohhhhh my Lonar, I used to visit you many a times, I photographed you from hundreds of angle… & today I don’t have a single word to describe your beauty from more than 35,000 feet, want to jump in the plane but cant…..

By that time I forgot to store that spectacular scene in camera…. quickly I started camera n captured that stunning view…. I managed to take only 2 photographs… n looking deep back in the window, goodbye to Lonar ….. This all was happened in less than a minute or two…. Will be back again……

विज्ञान आणि मुले
१४ नोव्हेंबर २००८ रोजी भारताचे चान्द्रयानातील मून इम्पक्ट प्रोब चांद्रभूमीवर आदळले, ज्याने चंद्रावर पाणी असल्याचे सबळ पुरावे मिळविले. अमेरिकेला गेल्या ४० वर्षात अनेक मोहिमांमध्ये जे जमले नाही ते दैदिप्यमान यश भारताने पहिल्या मोहिमेत मिळविले. ये यान १४ नोव्हेंबर रोजी चंद्रावर गेल्यामुळे मुलांचे लाडके डॉक्टर अब्दुल कलाम यांनी हे वैज्ञानिक यश भारतातील तमाम मुलांना समर्पित केले. जेणेकरून या यशापासून प्रेरणा घेऊन अनेक मुलांनी विज्ञान संशोधन क्षेत्रात पुढे यावे व देशातील प्रत्येक बालमनात किमान वैज्ञानिक दृष्टीकोन रुजावा.

मुलांसाठी वैज्ञानिक खेळणी:: पालकांचा चिंताजनक दृष्टीकोन
एक चीनी म्हण आहे " मला सांगा मी विसरेन, मला दाखवा कदाचित माझ्या लक्षात राहील, मला सामील करा मला सर्व समजेल" याचाच अर्थ प्रत्यक्ष खेळताना करून पाहिल्यानंतरच एखादी गोष्ट पक्की समजते व दीर्घ काळ लक्षात राहते. असे अनुभवाधिष्ठित शिक्षण आपल्याकडे कोठे आहे? बालविज्ञान चळवळ राबविणे अथवा मुलांना विज्ञान सांगणे हि कोण्या एका विशिष्ट संस्थेची अथवा विज्ञान शिक्षकांची जबाबदारी आहे असे समजून बहुतेक पालक बाजूला होतात. खरे तर वैज्ञानिक समज / वैज्ञानिक दृष्टीकोन हि जगण्याची गरज आहे ती काही चार भिंतींच्या आत शिकविली जाऊ शकत नाही. अगदी लहान वयापासूनच हे संस्कार मुलांवर लागतात. महान शास्त्रज्ञ अल्बर्ट आईनस्टाईन असो वा विमानांचा शोध लावणारे राईट बंधू यासारख्या अनेक पाश्चिमात्य शास्त्रज्ञांच्या यशाचे गमक त्यांच्या बालपणात दडलेले आहे. यांना त्यांच्या लहानपणी वैज्ञानिक खेळणी भेट म्हणून मिळाली होती. लहान मुले खेळण्यातून शिकत असतात व त्यातूनच ते जगाशी संपर्क साधतात. पालक म्हणून तुमच्याकडे २ पर्याय आहेत १ म्हणजे मुलांना एखादे वैज्ञानिक / शैक्षणिक खेळण देण कि जे दीर्घकाळ त्याचे मनोरंजन करेल व त्याच वेळी त्याच्या मेंदूला चालना देऊन आवश्यक ते कौशल्य विकसित करेल जे त्या बालकाला त्याच्या उर्वरित आयुष्यात उपयोगी पडेल. यात तुमचा वेळ मुलासोबत घालवणे अपेक्षित आहे. व दुसरा पर्याय म्हणजे बाजारात चलती असणारे एखादे कार्टून अथवा व्हीडीओ गेमचे character किंवा खेळणे जे फक्त तुमच्या घरातील जागा व्यापेल. तुमचे मुल खेळण्यात व्यस्त राहील व तुमचा वेळ वाचेल. निवड तुम्हाला करायची आहे.


दुर्दैवाने विज्ञान खेळणी म्हणजे केवळ शाळेतील सायन्स प्रोजेक्ट साठी वर्षातून एकदा घ्यायची हाच समज आपल्या समाजात सर्वत्र दिसतो. वास्तविक जर लहान मुलांना विज्ञान-तंत्रज्ञानावर आधारित एखादे खेळणे दिले तर त्याची स्मरणशक्ती, तौलनिक विचार करण्याची क्षमता वाढते. फक्त वयोमानानुसार योग्य वैज्ञानिक खेळण्याची निवड तुम्हाला करावी लागेल. खेळण्यातून ज्या संकल्पना समजतात त्या कायमस्वरूपी लक्षात राहतात. तुमच्या मुलाच्या इच्छेनुसार त्याचा कल कोणत्या विषयाकडे आहे हे पाहून त्यालाच निवडीचे स्वातंत्र्य दिले तरी चालण्यासारखे आहे. वैज्ञानिक खेळण्यांच्या मदतीने विद्यार्थी पर्यावरणपूरक गोष्टी जसे सोलर कार कशी बनवायची, स्थितीज उर्जा- गतीज उर्जा, अपारंपरिक उर्जांचा वापर आदी गोष्टी सहजगत्या आत्मसात करतात. काही खेळांमधून त्यांचा शारीरिक व मानसिक दोन्हीचा विकास होतो. नुसत्या रिमोटच्या गाड्या व दर्जाहीन व्हीडीओ गेम्स यापासून मुलांची सुटका करा, हि पालक म्हणून तुमची नैतिक जबाबदारी आहे. मुलांना निसर्गाच्या जवळ घेऊन जा. एखादी छोटीशी सहल, पक्षीनिरीक्षण, आकाशनिरीक्षण आदीमुळे मुले खूप चिकित्सक व उत्साही बनतात. ते निसर्गाकडे, आजूबाजूच्या गोष्टीकडे विचारपूर्वक, वैज्ञानिक दृष्टीकोनातून पाहायला शिकतात ज्यामुळे त्यांची निरीक्षण क्षमता वाढून स्वतः गोष्टी समजून घेण्याकडे कल वाढतो. बऱ्याचदा वैज्ञानिक खेळणी तयार स्वरुपात नसतात तर त्या मुलांना तयार करायच्या असतात. त्यामुळे प्रत्येक वेळेस खेळताना त्यांच्या चेहऱ्यावरील नवनिर्मितीचा आनंद पाहून तुम्हालाही समाधान वाटेल. असेही निरीक्षण आहे कि पारंपारिक अभ्यासक्रमात मागे असणाऱ्या मुलांना वैज्ञानिक खेळणी दिल्यास त्यांचाही अभ्यासाकडे पाहण्याचा - शिकण्याचा दृष्टीकोन बदलतो व ते अधिक उत्साहवर्धक सकारात्मक नजरेने शिक्षणाकडे पाहायला लागतात. आजच्या या बालदिनी आपण आपला दृष्टीकोन बदलुयात हीच खऱ्या अर्थाने चिमुकल्यांना व भावी पिढीला बालदिनाची भेट असेल!!

You will be surprised to read the title "Telescope to Microscope" but yes this is Life! My Universe is fulfilled when I met Neelam for the first time. We both decided to live with 'Nature' and this was our first Nature trip after marriage. More are to come..... due to short time unable to write many things just sharing some lovely pics... hope you will enjoy....
